Open Heritage Day

Architecture Tours

‘Added Value’ is the theme of this year's Open Monument Day in Berlin. The Akademie der Künste has been located on Pariser Platz since 1907 – with one interruption. The building’s historical elements are among the few spatial fragments on the square that pre-date 1945. They were carefully integrated into the new Academy building during its construction in 2005 and, like the picture cellar that has been accessible to the public since 2018, are now under protected landmark status. The guided tours provide insights into these preservation-worthy places.
